ハイ、謎です。無理やり解釈している人もいますが、意味不明だったりします。
で、これ、馬場祥弘さんが、アメリカ民謡を日本語訳して、アレンジしたものっぽいですね。

原曲はなんとなく意味通りますねぃ。敬遠しあって追いかけっこって流れですねぃ。で、

ということで、ご本人からの情報を入手するため、直接会う機会のある出版社の編集者の方に頼んだりしたのだが、それによると「それぞれ、聞く方の想像に任せればいいでしょう‥‥」というような回答で、はっきりしたことはわからなかったのだそうだ。残念である
